A scholarship is an ideal way for financially challenged students to further their higher education. They provide students the ability to study for free, as well as afford the living expenses, books, tuition etc without any worries. Among the criteria are that the applicants should not have been exposed to education in the UK previously, should hold a Master’s degree from a reputed Indian university and should provide evidence of leadership qualities. Applicants also need to be fluent in the English language. The scholarship covers academic fees, airfare, living expenses and the fee for the visa.

The TU Delft, Faculty of Applied Sciences Scholarship Program

Out of the many scholarships for engineering students, the TU Delft Faculty of Applied Sciences Scholarship program is worth mentioning. It is a scholarship program covering all tuition fees for an outstanding Indian applicant. The scholarship is worth 25,000 Euros for a 2 year MSc program. The scholarship is available for all Indian applicants following MSc programs such as

MSc Applied Physics, MSc Chemical Engineering, MSc Science Educations and Communication, MSc Life Science and Technology and MSc Sustainable Energy Technology. Applicants must have average marks that are 85% or higher and should be proficient in the English language. They should have an overall band score of 7.0 from IELTS and a score of 100 from TOEFL iBT.

K.C. Mahindra Scholarships for Post Graduate Studies Abroad

The K.C. Mahindra Education Trust offers Indian nationals who are interested in doing post-graduate studies abroad the ability to obtain interest free loans. This loan is applicable to students undertaking post-graduate studies in various fields of study in Indian universities. Engineering, Natural Sciences, Humanities, and Business Management are among some of the advanced study disciplines that are eligible for this scholarship. The maximum amount of the loan will not exceed Rs.95,000. Students need to possess a First Class degree or equivalent diploma from a recognized Indian University in order to be eligible for the loan.

Fullbright – Nehru Fellowships in the US

This is a fellowship program made available by the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF). It is a scholarship that enables Indian undergraduate students, as well as graduate students and doctoral students, the opportunity to study in the US. Eligibility criteria vary according to the level of study. However, applicants have to be responsible Indian students, who are able to make a representation of culture and civilization of India. All students must return to their home country once the duration of the scholarship is over.

Indian Oil Corporation Scholarships

There are many scholarships for engineering students. The Indian Oil Corporation Scholarship is another well-known scholarship for this study discipline. 450 scholarships are awarded to students of ITI, engineering, MBBS and MBA students. Engineering and MBBS and MBA students will be awarded Rs.2,000 a month for two years. 10+/ITI students will be awarded Rs.1,000 a month for two years. Students should be no less than 15 years of age and no more than 30 years. They should be pursuing full-time courses in the relevant study streams. Applicants should also be studying in institutions or universities that are recognized by the relevant state or education boards.

This scholarship is sponsored by two organizations: The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and General Motors (GM).
